Once a favourite haunt of Thackeray & Dickens, this is a popular drinking destination right on the banks of the Thames, with amazing views right across the water. But don’t get distracted by the camaraderie of the bar, the restaurant here also deserves a good look in. Starters offer up a fine little selection of fish dishes, rump of veal and rack of lamb fight for attention on the main menu, whilst a reassuringly traditional deserts are on offer, including sticky toffee pud, apple crumble and bakewell tart.
The Prime Meridian and the opposite 180th meridian (at 180 longitude), which the International Date Line generally follows, form a great circle that divides the Earth into the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.
