Once a favourite haunt of Thackeray & Dickens, this is a popular drinking destination right on the banks of the Thames, with amazing views right across the water. But don’t get distracted by the camaraderie of the bar, the restaurant here also deserves a good look in. Starters offer up a fine little selection of fish dishes, rump of veal and rack of lamb fight for attention on the main menu, whilst a reassuringly traditional deserts are on offer, including sticky toffee pud, apple crumble and bakewell tart.
Presented by Adam Hart Davis, this tour takes you back to the age when London was the maritime capital of the world, via the Docklands of the East End, and the historic waterfront of Greenwich.
