We foolishly opted for San Miguels for dinner last night. 5 hours later I woke up very ill. Food was stale and very very greasy. I would not recommend this restaurent. A shame, as the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was not filling, and a bag of chips would have been far healthier. Far to greasy and tasteless. This establishment need chefs, as it feels like everything is cooked in a microwave or pot of old grease.

Very disappointed.

Just came back from this place for my sons birthday and I must say the service is very good. The waiters delighted in singing happy birthday and the athmosphere and decor was as if I wasn't in London. The food however wasn't as good as I've experienced. The fried whitebait obviously came straight out of the microwave, the prices are cheaper than the now closed El Pirata in Blackheath which is a plus. I now know what to expect and will be going back just for the service and atmosphere but not before I try the tapas at Desperados across the road. I'd say give it a go especially in large groups.

I went to San Miguel last week, we were in fits of wwwith the tall waiter trying to talk to the permanantly smiling Peruvian waiter. the staff seem to have the balance just right, makeing us feel like personal friends although this was our first time we will be real regulara now. The spanish liqueur and brady on the house made this a certainty

I have been coming to san miguel for many years so decided to come for my birthday on 11th june 2008 to find it has new management and new staff, this will be the last time i come here. the food was not as nice, it was considerably less and i came away hungry. the waiters were hovering around our table talking in spanish not realising that my girlfriend is peruvian and can understand everything, i found out later that they were all talking down about my family and were basically taking the mickey!! not reccommended!!

I was really really dissapointed... We went there with my friend for a dinner. The food had a stale taste and was cold, as if cooked in the microwave. the service was a nuisance too... I am never ever ever coming back.
